Marisa and Jake got in touch with me looking for a photographer to capture their engagement up in the Peaks (exciting, huh?!)
It’s like a dream come true when a couple are open to creativity, location and are happy to go a little bit unorthodox – these two were certainly up for the crazy!
First meeting in China, these two had a whirlwind romance that ended in a long-distance relationship due to Covid-19 (she was living in America whilst he was back here in the UK!) After restrictions eased, Marisa and Jake have been touring the UK together and got in touch whilst they were visiting Derby hoping to have an engagement session “somewhere pretty”. Of course, The Peak District instantly came to mind and after just a short time Googling I came across the stunning Dovedale and Thorpe Cloud mountain, just a short 10 minutes drive from their AirB&B (where they also wanted a few more intimate photos taken!)
Honestly, after such an empty year due to Covid, it’s a blessing when I get to do photography sessions like these. The scenery up in the Peak District is absolutely jaw dropping and I’m so beyond happy with how these photos turned out (even if I do say so myself!!)
