Some clients become so much more than clients, and The Carters are very much one of those couples for me.

I first met these two while photographing a wedding at a Suffolk venue, where she was the wedding coordinator. So when she got in touch to tell me that they were expecting their first baby and wanted me to capture their maternity session, I was absolutely thrilled. There are few things more special than being invited to photograph another chapter in a couple’s story. I had a vision for a maternity session I’d been wanting to photograph for a while, so I nervously ran the idea past them… thankfully, they loved it just as much as I did! We headed to Thetford Forest for golden hour, where the warm evening light and beautiful woodland created the perfect setting for this incredibly special season of their lives.

As a Suffolk maternity photographer and Suffolk family photographer, I adore sessions like this. They’re not just about documenting a growing bump; they’re about capturing the excitement, connection and anticipation of two people about to become parents for the very first time.

And, as it happens, this wasn’t the last time I’d be photographing these two before their daughter arrived. I’ve since had the absolute privilege of capturing their newborn session too – which makes looking back at these photographs even more special.

From proposal, to engagement, to wedding day, to maternity and now newborn photographs… I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to follow The Carters through so many chapters of their life together. I genuinely can’t wait to see where their story takes them next.
