Scotland Elopement Photographer - Nicola and Charles

Where their elopement began:

When Nicola and Charles booked me to capture their Scotland elopement in Glencoe, I was truly on cloud 9. These guys had originally booked to have a very traditional wedding down South but, rather complimentary to me, changed their entire wedding plan when they saw me sharing my Scotland elopement photography. Talk about compliment, or what? Needless to say, there’s a whole lot about their elopement in Glencoe that I can’t wait to tell you all about.

How to plan your elopement in Scotland

These guys had done a lot of research and loved multiple locations in Scotland to elope. Glencoe definitely won for it’s staggering beautiful and dramatic landscapes though. From there, it was a decision on their accommodation. Unlike their original traditional wedding plan, Nicola and Charles knew they wanted an elopement vibe but still wanted their closest family there. So the decision was made, they were going to elope in Glencoe with 9 of their nearest and dearest. This made for a beautiful merge of an elopement with a twist and really did give them the best of both worlds for their day!

The location for their Scottish elopement

Eager James Bond fans may recognise a photo or two amongst their gallery. Nicola and Charles eloped at the Dalness Estate in Glencoe, positioned famously on the Glen Etive road. Glen Etive features in the famous James Bond film ‘Skyfall’ and was spectacular for their elopement amongst the Scottish scenery.

The Glencoe elopement

As an elopement photographer in Scotland, it’s safe to say I’ve faced some of the authentic Scottish weather and Nicola and Charles’ elopement was no different. The day of their elopement came, alongside thick black clouds and torrential rain and sleet. We’d planned for this (as any elopement photographer should!) and these two were beyond up for facing the weather at it’s grimmest. This even included their ceremony, when their closest family shoot out in the rain – umbrellas in the air, as they tied the knot! I’m so happy Nicola and Charles embraced the rain, because their elopement portraits couldn’t have fitted the moody Scottish scenery better!

The Dalness Estate is a Scotland elopement photographers dream. Set amongst the most gorgeous Scottish landscapes, it really is a total treat to explore the beauty just a stones throw from the main house. Nicola and Charles’ Scotland elopement really was beautifully unforgettable.
