Some families you meet and immediately think, yep, we’re going to get along just fine.

The Norton’s were definitely one of those families. I met up with them at Thetford Forest in Norfolk for a relaxed family session with their gorgeous little daughter, and I genuinely don’t think I stopped laughing the entire time. They were completely my kind of people – fun, relaxed and very happy to embrace a bit of chaos!

We spent the session exploring the forest, playing together and capturing all those lovely little moments between them. Nothing overly posed or formal, just the three of them enjoying some time together and letting their daughter be her wonderfully little self.

That’s exactly what I love about being a Norfolk family photographer. I want family sessions to feel like an afternoon out together rather than a photoshoot – plenty of laughter, cuddles, running around and absolutely no expectation that everyone needs to behave perfectly for the camera.

As it turns out, this wasn’t the last time I’d be photographing the Norton’s. I’ve since had the pleasure of capturing their wedding in Leicestershire – and can confirm that I still didn’t stop laughing!
