There are few places better for a relaxed family photography session than Holkham Beach. With its sweeping sands, beautiful woodland and plenty of space for little legs to run wild, it gives you the freedom to forget the camera is even there – which is exactly how I like my family sessions to feel.

I recently met up with The Browns and their two daughters at Holkham in Norfolk for a lovely afternoon of exploring, playing and spending time together. We made the most of both the woodland and the beach, capturing the girls running through the trees, playing on the sand and, most importantly, all those little moments that show what their family is like right now.

As a Norfolk and Suffolk family photographer, these are the sessions I love most. I’m not looking for everyone to sit perfectly still and smile at the camera…I want the cuddles, the giggles, the chaos and all the in-between moments too. The things you’ll look back on years from now and remember exactly how it felt to have them this little.
