Some weddings just have a timeless, graceful feel about them and Alice and James’ Hengrave Hall wedding was exactly that. A beautiful late September day, full of love and laughter that makes you fall in love with being a Suffolk wedding photographer all over again.
Alice and James chose to spend their entire day at Hengrave Hall, which always makes for such a relaxed and flowing wedding day. The morning started calmly in the beautiful bridal suite — a peaceful buzz of excitement as hair and makeup began and everyone got ready surrounded by light, laughter, and little moments of calm.
Before the main ceremony, they had their legal marriage in the Hall’s stunning library, with just their closest family watching. It was such an intimate and special moment before heading back to the suite to finish getting ready for their chapel ceremony.

Alice and James chose to spend their entire day at Hengrave Hall, which always makes for such a relaxed and flowing wedding day. The morning started calmly in the beautiful bridal suite — a peaceful buzz of excitement as hair and makeup began and everyone got ready surrounded by light, laughter, and little moments of calm.
Before the main ceremony, they had their legal marriage in the Hall’s stunning library, with just their closest family watching. It was such an intimate and special moment before heading back to the suite to finish getting ready for their chapel ceremony.
A Romantic Chapel Ceremony at Hengrave Hall
The on-site chapel at Hengrave Hall is such a magical space, and it looked even more beautiful that day. The aisle was lined with candles and bud vases, creating a soft, romantic glow that perfectly suited the September light.
Their Humanist celebrant led the ceremony beautifully, weaving together laughter and heartfelt emotion. Alice and James had written their own vows, and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. The sound of their voices echoing gently through the chapel made it one of those moments you just feel deeply.

Portraits in the Gardens at Hengrave Hall
This part of the day was something really special. After the buzz of the drinks reception, Alice and James took a little time out together for their couple portraits and what a setting!
We wandered through the gardens by the terrace and around to the front of the grand hall which was just incredible. It’s always such a lovely part of the day for couples to pause, take a breath, and just enjoy each other’s company — and the photos from this session capture that perfectly.
The gardens at Hengrave Hall are full of hidden corners and sweeping views, and we made the most of every bit of it.

Alice and James greeted their guests with a receiving line as everyone entered the room, which was such a lovely personal touch. Dinner was served, and speeches took place between courses — a perfect mix of laughter, love, and a few happy tears.
