Lucie & Ed’s Sunny Summer Wedding at Jimmy’s Farm, Suffolk
There’s something truly special about a Jimmy’s Farm wedding, and Lucie & Ed’s day was every bit as joyful, colourful and full of personality as the two of them. As a Suffolk wedding photographer, I’m lucky to capture days like this where the countryside, the animals and the laughter all come together perfectly.
Lucie started her morning surrounded by her bridesmaids at Retreat East, the most peaceful Suffolk hideaway – think rustic beams, golden light and a glass or two of fizz! Meanwhile, Ed was just down the road at The Hay Barn at Jimmy’s Farm, getting ready with his groomsmen. The excitement was already building for what was about to be one very sunny day.

The Outdoor Ceremony: Florals, Sunshine & Parasols
Their outdoor ceremony took place beneath the famous Jimmy’s stretch tent, with the stairs transformed into a floral masterpiece. Lucie walked down the aisle in the June sunshine (thank goodness for those parasols!) and the smiles said it all.
When it came to confetti time – wow! The white paper pieces floated through the air like magic, and I couldn’t stop snapping.

The drinks reception in the sunshine at Jimmy's Farm
After “I do,” everyone made their way to the drinks reception. These “in-between” moments- guests chatting, laughing, and soaking it all in – are always some of my favourites to photograph. We paused for quick and relaxed family photos with the stunning Suffolk countryside as our backdrop before everyone returned to the sunshine with drinks in hand.

Ice Creams, Lemurs & All the Fun of Jimmy’s Farm
You know it’s a scorcher of a wedding day when an ice cream truck makes an appearance – complete with personalised wafers (how cool is that?!).
Lucie & Ed wanted to keep things light and relaxed, so they split their speeches across the day, one set before gaining access to the farm and another after dinner.
And then came the moment everyone was waiting for…their zoo park hour! Honestly, this is what makes Jimmy’s Farm weddings so unique. Guests got to wander, feed the animals, and enjoy the total novelty of being in a zoo mid-wedding!
Lucie & Ed even had their very own lemur experience, which has to be one of the most unique moments I’ve ever captured. (and yes, there was also a baby pygmy goat who completely stole Lucie’s heart.

Dinner, dancing and golden hour magic
Before heading in for dinner, there was time for a quick bounce on the inflatables – because why not?!
Dinner was set up on long banquet tables filled with bud vases and bright blooms, a Pinterest-worthy setup if ever there was one. After another round of brilliant speeches from the best men, the evening light started to dip… and it was pure golden hour magic.
We snuck away for ten minutes while the sun glowed over the fields – champagne spray and all – and even made use of the 4×4 for some truly epic sunset shots.
Back at the stretch tent, the fairy lights flickered on, the music started, and it was time for their first dance; the perfect end to a perfect Suffolk summer wedding.

Why I Love Being a Jimmy’s Farm Wedding Photographer
Every Jimmy’s Farm wedding I photograph is different, but what they all have in common is that sense of fun, freedom and connection. Whether it’s the animals, the relaxed countryside vibe, or the incredible team that makes it all run smoothly, it’s one of my favourite Suffolk wedding venues to shoot at.
If you’re planning your own Jimmy’s Farm wedding and are looking for a Suffolk wedding photographer who’ll capture the laughter, emotion and all the in-between moments, I’d love to hear from you.
